A Month of Horse Shenanigans

At Wofford, we have a nice little break between first and second semester called interim! During interim you can either go abroad as is the case with “Yoga in Costa Rica”, or take a class on campus such as pottery or “Outdoors in the Upstate.”  Basically the purpose of interim is to get a month off from real classes, time to form new friendships, and watch episodes on episodes of your favorite show!

This, my first interim, I am taking “Riding and Researching the Horse!”  We get to go to the stables and actually ride 6 times over the four weeks!  My groups first lesson is this coming Thursday and I’m so excited!

The last time I rode a horse was probably 4 years ago at a friend’s house.  While I was on Buddy, Jade bucked off my friend’s little sister.  The breath was knocked out of her and it was super scary!  After my friend and her mom rode over to the scene, I soon realized that I had no idea how to make my horse move or even get off!  Not the best last memory of horses, but I’m excited about riding again nevertheless!

How does Diabetes have anything to do with this…?  It doesn’t!!!

Follow up soon to come.. Giddy Up!
